We at upTOP solved this problem by developing a roof rack with huge 50" load bars. Including our adjustable slide configuration allowing the bars to be shifted 1" in either direction for perfect alignment with all the latest gear.

Using the existing OEM roof rack mounting locations allows you to assemble this rack on the ground and attach it to the roof in one assembly with no drilling required.
