Pull your gear out instead of climbing in after it. The XTR Slide Out Kit mounts a length of Xtrusion to the inside of your bed rack — on the side brace or top brace — to create a sliding tray for your gear. It’s the easiest way to turn dead rack space into an organized, accessible truck bed organizer, and it’s one of the most practical bed rack accessories we make.

The kit uses linear bearings for a smooth, inexpensive truck bed slide out mechanism — perfect for the heavy or awkward gear you don’t want to reach over a tailgate for: Rotopax, shovels, propane and water tanks, recovery boards, and tool kits. Slide it out, grab what you need, lock it back in. Overland kit on the weekend, jobsite gear during the week — it’s built for both.

Why the XTR Slide Out Kit

  • Easy gear access — slides your loadout out to you instead of making you climb into the bed.
  • Linear-bearing slide — smooth travel with a locking lever to hold it shut on the trail or the highway.
  • Mounts inside the rack — attaches to the side brace or top brace; keeps your bed floor clear.
  • Built for real gear — Rotopax, shovels, propane tanks, traction boards, tool cases.
  • Dual-market — overland recovery and camp gear; jobsite tools and equipment.

Choose your length — and full vs. half slide

Select your bed rack length at checkout (the slide bar is cut to match). One important fitment note:

  • Full-length slide — XTR1 racks (no center upright). The full slide runs the length of the rack.
  • Half-length slide — XTR3 racks. The XTR3 center upright can interfere with a full-length slide, so a half-length slide is recommended. Still choose your full rack length — the slide bar is sized automatically (e.g. a 60" rack gets a 28.5" half slide bar).

Estimated lead time: 4–5 weeks (built to your rack length).

What’s included

  • (1) Slide bar cut to match your bed rack length.
  • (4–8) Linear slide bearings with hardware — quantity scales with slide length.
  • (1) End cap.
  • (1) Locking lever mechanism for the linear slide.

Build out your bed rack

The Slide Out Kit installs on any XTR1 bed rack or XTR3 bed rack. Pair it with the XTR Modular MOLLE Plates for a full gear wall, add a XTR1 AXS Gate Kit (or XTR3 AXS Gate Kit) for swing-down access, and mount a XTR Rotopax Adapter Plate right onto the slide for fuel and water.

Truck bed slide out FAQ

What does a bed rack slide out do?
It mounts a sliding tray inside your bed rack so heavy or hard-to-reach gear pulls out to you, then locks back in for travel — turning your rack into an accessible truck bed organizer.

Will it fit an XTR1 or XTR3 rack?
Both. Use a full-length slide on XTR1 racks (no center upright) and a half-length slide on XTR3 racks (the center upright interferes with a full slide). Choose your full rack length either way; the slide bar is sized automatically.

What can I mount on it?
Anything you want quick access to — Rotopax fuel/water, shovels, propane tanks, recovery boards, tool cases. Use 5/16-18 screws and T-nuts to attach accessories.

How long does it take to ship?
Each slide is cut to your rack length, so estimated lead time is 4–5 weeks.

Can’t say enough good things about Mike and the Spirit team. Definitely the go-to shop for all things camp / overland / outdoor. He helped me figure out what roof rack would work best for my 4Runner, and the rooftop tent + awning that fit my budget and what I was looking for. Don’t miss out on their camp accessories and gear either — 5 stars all around.

Mike over at Spirit is an absolute legend in the overlanding space here in Colorado. He’s been in the industry long enough to easily identify a fad versus a trend and is passionate about quality products that will make your time outdoors better. He knows the products he sells and is committed to finding the perfect fit for your adventure rig. I can’t recommend him and his team enough.

Mike and Spirit of 1876 are top notch, he's the most knowledgeable person I've found in the overland/accessory market and he'll tell you what products are worth your while, and which are not based on real world experience... He sells only the best products, and doesn't sell what's popular just because XYZ company put a bunch of money into marketing. Trust Mike with your next purchase of anything in the overland accessory field, he won't steer you wrong.
